#10 Canner
I got lucky today! I happened upon a #10 canner. (needs just a little work)
Does anyone know where I can purchase the cans? I am looking forward to being able to do this myself :) thanks in advance |
Re: #10 Canner
Call your local LDS Cannery. You can get them there. ;0)

Re: #10 Canner
Just so happens thats where I went dumpster diving to get it.
They do have the cans at a very reasonable price. They are about an hour away. I was just thinking delivery to my home my be easier, but the best pricing I found was almost double the cost of the storehouse. As a side observation I was surprised to see the inventory so low they limited the amount we could purchase. No bulk wheat! And they will not take orders. Its on a first come basis with limits. |
Re: #10 Canner
Speaking of canners, this one looks like it might get the job done.
http://www.alard-equipment.com/a-f/z7244.htm I've located quite a few canners, but haven't found wholesale sources for #10 cans. |
Re: #10 Canner
This is a link to the one I acquired, it is missing the bottom support plate.
I think a machine shop should be able to make one fairly easy. http://www.ashcocan.com/Ashco%202.pdf Should be more that adequate. |

Coool , looks like it might do the trick , and no 3phase power, but if I had to get a bigger canner that ran on 3phase I could always use one of my diesel generators. Many times it's cheaper to use a generator instead of a phase converter if your shop isn't wired for 3phase. I'm interested to learn more about purchasing cans. |
